I enjoy being a photographer because I love working with people – getting to know you, helping you feel comfortable and excited about being photographed, and creating something beautiful and meaningful together. My creative and artistic vision is what guides the process but your input is what ensures that you enjoy yourself and love the final products. I see our work together as a true collaboration.

I am here for you every step of the way, from helping you choose a location for your session to making recommendations about your outfit choices to guiding you through simple and relaxed poses. I will go over your wedding day timeline with you step by step to make sure that we have time to get all the photos you care about most and I’ll map out a plan for making your family formals go smoothly.

I am always happy to answer your questions and make suggestions based on my expertise, as well as to hear your ideas for making your session or wedding day completely unique to you.

Seven years ago, my now-husband convinced me to have a wedding instead of eloping (like I had always dreamed!) and we ended up having one of the best days of our lives on our wedding day, surrounded by family and friends. I’ve been hooked on weddings ever since!

Here are a few posts I wrote for A Practical Wedding while planning our wedding and shortly afterward. They will probably give you a lot of insight into my thoughts on weddings!

How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Plan My Wedding

Planning A Wedding With Divorced Parents

Rachelle & Stephen: Wedding Graduates

Ultimately, I believe that weddings are full of magic.

Not fairy-tale magic. Not something that can be bought with lots of money or earned with obsession over every tiny detail, but a magic that’s created when two people fall in love and commit their lives to one another in front of their closest friends and family.

The look on your beloved’s face when they see you for the first time on your wedding day. The tears in your eyes as you say your vows. Your parents beaming at you from their seats in the front row during the ceremony. The laughter in your maid of honor’s voice as she toasts to you and the tears your best man chokes back during his speech. The way everyone, from your youngest cousin to your oldest great-aunt, knows the words to Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing and will insist on belting them out at the top of their lungs as they all dance around you.

These are the moments, the energy, the emotions that I strive to capture from your day. These are the details I care about.

I believe that photographing a wedding is an honor and a privilege. Spending my weekends at weddings has continually reminded me what the most important things in life truly are – love, laughter, family, friends and celebrating our good fortune together.

I grew up in Houston, Texas but recently relocated to Santa Rosa, California with my husband Stephen, our son Cameron, our sweet dogs Jezebelle and Pippa and our cranky cat Roscoe. These photos of us are from the photobooth at a friend’s wedding – we are known for tearing up the dance floor like no one else!

I will never turn down an invitation to brunch or the opportunity to open a bottle of champagne. I wish I was exactly like Leslie Knope, but I am actually exactly like Ben Wyatt. I have seen Empire Records and The Royal Tenenbaums approximately 100 times each. Stephen and I have dressed as the band Daft Punk for three Halloweens in a row, complete with full scale replica helmets (with LEDs) that he built himself. I know a lot of random facts about things, which makes me an excellent teammate in Trivial Pursuit (my friends have called me “Wikipedia”).

I love to talk. I would love to know more about you! Drop me a line and let’s meet up for coffee or drinks and get to know each other better!
